DTMF downloading call on my cell phone!!?
Can anyone help me clear up what is going on here??? First of all, I’m a Realtor so I always answer my phone because many clients call from Private and Unavailable numbers.
I just switched over mobile plans from Alltel to Verizon and recieved a new plan and a new phone (Alias phone). For the last couple of weeks I’ve been receiving calls from a PRIVATE number and when I answer, nobody answers but the VERIZON logo comes across the screen and it reads “downloading dtmf” and a music/tone logo appears.
The calls are becoming more and more frequent (4-5 times day at all hours of the day) and if I don’t answer, the PRIVATE number will immediately call again.
Does anyone have any ideas? Again, I need my phone for business! I’ve contacted VERIZON and I am not subscribed to any downloads or internet service or ringtones and VERIZON has never had this problem with any other customer? Has this happened to anyone else?
i heard of this happenning before with our phones… come to find out a fax machine was trying to fax something. Since the cell phone is partially a mini computer too, it was trying to interprute the fax signal. LOL
no charges here either, just annoyed the customer to the point she changed her phone number.
Your phone does have the ability to block all Private calls… however, since your customers also have private numbers, they will be blocked as well…
I’m sorry. You can change your number. Tell Verizon the situation and they should waive the number change fee… we do on “harrassing calls–hint”
