Bluetooth: my phone finds my laptop, but my laptop doesn’t find my phone!?
Today I got the new LG VX8550 Chocolate phone and I wanted to use bluetooth to transfer things like ringtones to it from my laptop. My laptop is about a year old and when I got it it came with a “Dell Wireless 350 Bluetooth” card.
I never used the bluetooth before and when I tried to do it today, I found out the driver wasn’t even installed. So I tried to install the default Dell driver and it froze part way through installing. So then I had half a driver on there and just uninstalled it completely and put a Widcomm 5.0.xx one I found online instead. That seemed to work, in that it recognized the computer having a bluetooth card and seems to start.
But now when I try to pair the computer and the phone together, I have a new problem. The phone finds the computer no problem and asks for a passcode. But the computer has no idea the phone is out there. Why would this be, and how can I fix it?

Try it the other way round.. Initiate the search for devices from ur laptop.. If the laptop is able to find the phone then enter a default passcode(123) and the two should pair.. If the phone is not found, then you need to make the phone discoverable from the Bluetooth settings menu on the phone..
If both are discovered and the problem occurs while entering passcode on the laptop it could be a problem with the Widcomm BT Stack u installed.. Try to search whether ur Bluetooth adapter on laptop is compatible with the Widcomm stack ur using or try to find some other compatible drivers for ur BT adapter..
