Custom Iphone Ringtones

How can I add custom ringtones on to my iPhone?

Basically I’ve gone through the whole process of right click>get info>choose start and end time etc. but for some reason upon completing this process I am unable to move the songs in to the ring tones section of iTunes. Any thoughts?
