ATT Wireless lets you use free downloaded ringtone?

hi, I planning to get LG Shine phone from ATT wireless, but I was wondering if you can transfer like MP3 format ringtones to that phone sending it by email method? And save it as ringtone? reason is verizon wireless don’t let me do that… I have motorola krzr k1m phone.. when I send that ringtone to my phone it didn’t have options to save as ringtone..
