how do i make my mobile be able to connect to the Internet and email, and what settings do i use?(its o2)?

my mobile wont connect to the internet. its vodafone but it has an o2 sim in now. i dont know the settings and every time i try to connect i get the message of cannot connect to network. its strange as i went on the o2 website and requested they send me the settings for o2 active so they did but it still wont coneect! someone please help me! i cant even download ringtones!

just the phone the o2 companyy & ask them how 2!!!
