Email Ringtones To Verizon

Making ringtones on Verizon Gleam?

So I had a verizon gleam, and it had problems, so i took it in, and they replaced it. The first gleam I had, let me email myself sound attachments, which I could then save as ringtones, however, when I tried to repeat the process on my new gleam, it sends the email to my phone as a text (which is correct), but it says that the attachment was removed!!! How do I get it to not delete the attachment? Oh, and I have a micro SD card, but when I tried to transfer the sounds that way, the sounds are on my card, but don’t show up in the phone. I’m so frustrated!!!! Help?

I just found out from Verizon (my carrier) that ALL ringtones MUST be pruchased from Verizon to work on Verizon phones… they said that older phones may still have the capability of saving the file in my sounds or texting it to your phone and then save as a ringtone….but not anymore… and when you get a new phone… you lose the ringtones you bought from them ($2.99 each) – that’s highway robbery.
