Iphone Ringtones Alarm

iPhones? What can they do? Anyone help?

I have just brought an iPhone and I am not going to say I am dissapointed but I thought it would have been able to do alot more, alot! I am loving all the awesome apps but I went from having an Nokia N95 to an iPhone. I used ti customise my N95 all the time, the ringtones, the wallpapers, the message tones and the alarm tones? So far I have managed to get ringtones and wallpapers but I really want message and alarm tones? Any iPhone users or smart person out there that can help me?
What exactly is “jailbreak”ing an iPhone? What will it do?

In order to change the message tones and alarm tones, you will first need to jailbreak your iPhone, install SSH and use WinSCP to change these files on your iPhone:

Text Message Sound:
/System/ Library/Audio/UISounds/ ReceivedMessage.caf

Alarm:
/System/ Library/Audio/UISounds/ alarm.caf

.caf files are actually .aif (or .aiff) files renamed to .caf so convert your tones to .aiff and rename them. I would suggest you to backup the original files before you replace in case you mess up.

There are also other .caf files inside that you can play around with to change Email, Voice mail, etc
