making ringtones from real songs?

so on my phone you can make a melody. you type in the notes and then play it. What if i want to make a melody out of a popular song, like leavin’ by jesse mccartney for example. where could i find the notes to make that melody?

you might be able to search it on the internet. well, i know that on verizon.com you can search jesse mccartney and see if you can find the song in the media section. if u don’t have verizon, i don’t know.
