Guns N’ Roses Ringtones

Guns N’ Roses was formed in 1985, led by co-founder and front man Axl Rose.  The band sold 100 million albums worldwide since its inception, including 43 million in the United States.  

Ringtones are as much a part of mobile phones as address books are.  Almost every mobile phone today has ringtone capability and it will soon become the standard.  Guns N’ Roses tops the charts in the most downloaded rock ringtones with Sweet Child O’ Mine.

Guns N’ Roses was formed in 1985, led by co-founder and front man Axl Rose.  The band sold 100 million albums worldwide since its inception, including 43 million in the United States.  The American rock band released six studio albums, three EP’s and one live album.  In 1987, their debut album Appetite for Destruction sold over 28 million albums and was number one on the Billboard 200 in the United States.  The single, Sweet Child O’ Mine was among 10 top hits on the Billboard Hot 100.  

During the mid eighties to early nineties, the group had a hedonistic rebellion to their music and was compared to the Rolling Stones by Ozzy Osbourne.  Their album Appetite For Destruction is the highest selling debut album of all time.  Q Magazine named the band in their list of 50 Top Bands To See Before You Die in 2002.  VH1 positioned the band number 9 in their 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock and ranked it number 11 of the Top 50 Bands.

Some members of the group were victims of alcohol and drug abuse, while Axl got some bad press for his love of Charles Manson T-Shirts.  Rose has not held a press conference since 1994 and is accused of being bipolar.  He is often blamed for the break up of the original band.  

Sweet Child O’ Mine is one of their greatest singles and the most popular of rock ringtones today.  Airplay as a ringtone is a great feat for a band as their music is heard every time a phone rings, a text comes in or an email is received.  What better advertising is there out there?  As technology advances, new mediums open up for marketing purposes.  Everyone wins with great music, by great bands, coupled with great technology.  The wave of the future involves music.
