Samsung Ringtones File Types

how do i transfer ringtones through bluetooth?

i have a macbook
& i have a samsung alias phone from verizon
when i try and send a ringtone that is 17 seconds, it says my phone can’t receive the file type i’m trying to send…
what do i do?

Iknow you can’t send songs that have been encrypted or locked (as in bought from websites). I tried to send ringtones to my friend but could only send ones from websites not requiring me to pay.
