What’s the best way to convert Windows Vista Sound Recorder files to Verizon ringtones?

My phone holds a small SD memory card. I downloaded a converter and converted the file to .wma but the phone says there are no files on the card. I know the file is on the card because Explorer sees it and Media Player plays it. I know the phone works because I’ve used the card to transfer pictures.

your best bet for a playable format for the verizon ringtones are either mp3 files or .mid files.
find a convertor that takes your .wav files and outputs them into .mp3 files. you can then put them in your ringtones folder and it should work.
if you can’t find a convertor, burn your .wav files to an audio cd using windows media player, then re rip them into mp3 formats and then you can put the tones on your phone.
I won’t cover midi files since it’s too much of a long shot that your phone will play them.
