Verizon Ringtones Razr V3

Ringtones not working on Verizon Razr V3, will they work on LG Chocolate?

I have a Razr right now, and when I try to get free ringtones from mobile17 or phonezoo they don’t turn out right/my phone is not supported. I know this is because motorola disabled the software at the request of Verizon. Will this change if I get an LG Chocolate or another different phone? Or do I have to change providers for these tones to work?
