Cell phone ring tones?!?!?

ok i have a verizon LG VX5200 phone and i am trying to set my sounds as ringtones. there is like a million other questions like this and most of them say that verizon blocked it so you cant. does anyone know if this is true?? because my sister has an LG phone (its not the same one though its the LG VX5300) and i sent the sound i wanted to her and she could set it as a ring tone. is it just certin phones or what its confusing me!!!

Yes, Verizon does cripple their phones when it comes to ringtones from outside sources. Your only option would be to go out and get a data cable. they are really cheap and work well. Verizon has their system set up so you can’t just send yourself ringtones from anywhere you want.
